Student Life Coordinator

Opportunity Description

Southeastern University at Christian Life Center is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Student Life Coordinator. This entry-level position is responsible for coordinating, developing, and leading various aspects of student life, and serve as a liaison to our VIBE Young Adult Ministry.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing the student experience, fostering community, and promoting spiritual growth within the university.

Role Responsibilities:

1.Student Life and Community Building Programs:

  • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote student engagement, well-being, and community building.
  • Assist in organizing and supporting monthly hangouts, events, and leadership development classes.
  • Plan and coordinate student retreats, ensuring a balance of spiritual, social, and recreational activities.
  • Organize mission trips and outreach initiatives, working with community partners and ensuring meaningful service experiences for students.
  • Plan and coordinate on-campus and off-campus conferences, coordinating speakers, workshops, and logistical details.
  • Weekly Chapel Coordination: Coordinate room schedules, schedule of speakers, musicians, and other participants to create a diverse and enriching chapel program.
  • Prepares and distributes flyers, brochures and other promotional information to communicate student life activities, events and services in relevant locations on and off campus.
  • Encourage student participation in VIBE events and initiatives, promoting spiritual growth and community involvement.

2. Housing and Residential Life:

  • Oversee the daily operations of student housing, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained living environment.
  • Recruit, select, train, and supervise Resident Assistants (RAs).
  • Assist Director with developing and implementing training programs for RAs, focusing on leadership, conflict resolution, and community building.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to RAs, facilitating regular meetings and offering professional development opportunities.

3.  Social Media Content Creation:

  • Develop and manage social media content and calendar to promote student life activities, events, and programs.
  • Create engaging posts, stories, and updates for various social media platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to student engagement on social media, fostering a positive and interactive online community.
  • Assist in Marketing avenues and implementing new initiatives for bringing awareness to the program.

4.  Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of chapel attendance, program evaluations, housing occupancy, and other relevant data.
  • Assist with budget management and financial planning for student life and housing programs.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the Director and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare forms and reports including travel arrangements and reimbursements.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, Ministerial Leadership, Student Affairs, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in event planning, program and project coordination, student affairs, or social media management is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in housing operations or leading religious or spiritual programs is an asset.
  • Experience in working in a culturally diverse environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the values and mission of SEUCLC and Christian Life Center.
  • Graphic Design skills a plus.

Additional Information:

  • This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to support student events and activities. Travel to conferences and workshops required. 
  • The Student Life Coordinator will be an integral part of the SEUCLC team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the university community.
