Production Technical Coordinator

Opportunity Description

The Production Technical Coordinator will be a key figure in the execution of technical aspects related to live productions, overseeing audio elements, multi-site technical support, and event coordination. This role involves managing scheduling, installations, equipment maintenance, and volunteer recruitment within the technical production team. The Production Technical Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring a high-quality and seamless technical experience across multiple campuses and events.

Role Responsibilities

1. Audio

  • Coordinate and oversee the setup and operation of audio equipment for live productions.
  • Collaborate with audio engineers to achieve optimal sound quality during rehearsals and live performances.
  • Troubleshoot and address any audio issues in a timely manner.

2. Multi-Site – Training/Resourcing

  • Develop and implement training programs for technical teams at multiple campuses.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and resources to ensure consistent quality across all campuses.
  • Collaborate with technical teams at each location to address unique challenges and opportunities.

3. Events

  • Work closely with event planners to understand technical requirements for each event.
  • Coordinate and execute technical setups for various events, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate technical elements seamlessly into the overall event.

4. Scheduling

  • Create and manage detailed production schedules for all technical elements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper timing and sequencing of technical aspects during events.

5. Installs

  • Oversee the installation of audio and technical equipment for each production and event.
  • Ensure that installations meet safety and technical standards.

6. Equipment Management/Maintenance

  • Manage an inventory of technical equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and recommend upgrades when necessary.

7. Volunteer Recruitment/Community

  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers for various technical roles.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative community within the technical production team.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship to volunteers.

8. Lighting

  • Oversee and help implement lighting schemes to enhance the overall visual appeal of services and live productions.
  • Collaborate with the production team to achieve the desired atmosphere and mood for each event.
  • Help troubleshoot and address any lighting issues during rehearsals and live performances.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical coordination, particularly in audio & lighting production.
  • Strong understanding of audio & lighting equipment and technologies.
  • Experience in coordinating technical aspects for multi-site environments is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with event production and scheduling.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of volunteers.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
